Russian media: Plane with 71 aboard crashes near Moscow

May 3: All 113 people on board an Airbus 320 operated by Armenian company Armavia flying from Yerevan to Sochi in southern Russian Federation die when the craft comes down in the Black Sea on its landing approach.

The aircraft en route Moscow-Orsk crashed on February 11, killing all 71 people on board.

In 2015 Saratov Airlines was banned from operating worldwide flights when surprise inspectors found someone other than the flight crew was in the cockpit.

The search-and-rescue operation is ongoing.

President Vladimir Putin put off a planned trip to Sochi to monitor the investigation.

Witnesses reported seeing the passenger plane on fire as it plummeted to the ground, Interfax said.

The Saratov Airlines An-148 regional jet was traveling from Moscow's Domodedovo Airport to the Russian city of Orsk, about 1,000 miles to the southeast.
