South Africa to target investment, corruption under ANC's Ramaphosa

The alliance was at its weakest at the end of former ANC president Jacob Zuma's term as both the South African Communist Party and trade union Cosatu called for Zuma's resignation amidst allegations of state capture. January 8 marks the day the ANC was formed.

On Saturday, ANC President Ramaphosa will made public the so-called January 8 Declaration, which is released every year on the occasion of the ANC's anniversary at a rally attended by thousands of members and supporters of the organization.

Ramaphosa instead is emphasizing the need to unify the party.
