Saints and Jaguars win wild card games

The playoff game was a rude awakening for the Bills and their fans.

Sunday's Wild Card game stands as a continuation of a Jaguars season where the win was all that mattered. The Steelers were housed by the Jaguars, 30-9, ijn Week 5 at Heinz Field. The Bills did everything they needed to do to win the contest, at least in the first half.

The Jacksonville Jaguars won a playoff home game thanks to a smothering defense.

There's a reason why the Jags have been talked up this year as the team no one wants to face in the AFC bracket. The game was sealed when his backup quarterback, Nathan Peterman, threw an interception on his third pass of the game. Take away the games facing the New Orleans Saints, Los Angles Chargers, and the New England Patriots the second time, the defense can be considered the strongest point of the team, specifically the secondary.

The drive stalled from there and they had to settle for a Stephen Hauschka 31-yard field goal at the end of an 18-play, 71-yard drive that took 8:06. Starting from their own 16, they converted three straight third downs, got some help from two key Jacksonville penalties, and then it all started to go haywire as offensive coordinator Rick Dennison lost his mind.

Game. Blouses. That was the difference.

"I've been a Bills fan for 17 years, ever since I was born", Chris Johnson, a fan from Waverly, said. Peterman's 14-yard completion late was the fourth-longest play from scrimmage all day for the Bills, who netted only 263 yards of offense.

If you were watching the NFL's wild card weekend, you may have noticed an unfamiliar team in playoffs.

The Bills offense looked plain out pathetic this game.

Taylor was part of the problem on Sunday but he wasn't close to being the entire problem and the playoff loss shouldn't be pinned on him.

On Eve of Detroit show, FCA Announces $1B Investment
The company has announced a $1 billion investment into its manufacturing operations and a $2,000 bonus for over 60,000 US workers. The company, in a press release, said the moves were being "made possible in part by the passage of US tax reform legislation".

It was clear early on that neither of the quarterbacks - Tyrod Taylor and Bortles - were going to be doing much of anything. But McCoy had gotten the Bills down inside the 4-yard line, earning 41 of the Bills' 68 yards on that drive to that point. They had 84 yards on 26 plays. However, Fournette had less than 70 rushing yards in each of the last two weeks. "I'm so happy we're on to the next round, excited to go into Pittsburgh and keep this opportunity rolling for me and all of my teammates". That proud nostalgia didnt translate to the scoreboard, however, as Buffalo became just the second playoff team in the past five seasons to be held to three points or fewer.

Buffalo's offense was putrid in the second half.

Run the ball. Avoid costly mistakes and turnovers.

Getting the ball to start the second half, the offense moved the ball a bit. Looking at the box score, McCoy was the only receiver to eclipse 23 yards, which is telling as to how stifling the pass defense was.

The odds are good, however, that if the Jaguars can defend Le'Veon Bell as well as they did McCoy, Roethlisberger and the Steelers will be forced into the same obvious passing situations the Bills were-possibly with Antonio Brown at less than 100 percent. Taylor's future with the franchise now hangs in the balance, as we await news of his scary head injury.
