Eliot Wolf is Leaving for the Cleveland Browns

Since 2016, he has served as the director of football operations for the NFC North power. Highsmith is credited with pushing for the Packers to draft Donald Driver and sign undrafted Sam Shields, both serving significant roles when they played in Green Bay. According to Marc Sessler of NFL.com, the Oakland Raiders also had interest in adding Wolf to the front office, though he ultimately opted for Cleveland.

So the Packers managed to piss just about everyone else in the front office off in hiring Brian Gutekunst as general manager.

Crimson Tide's Ridley declares for NFL Draft
Harris ran for 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns this year as the lead rusher for the Crimson Tide. He is coming off a season in which he caught 63 passes for 967 yards and five touchdowns.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Wolf will receive a four-year contract to work under new Browns GM John Dorsey, also a former Packers executive. The same can also be said for the Browns' 2 current vice presidents of player personnel Andrew Berry and Ken Kovash.

With two first-round picks and a pair of second-rounders, Dorsey and Wolf have the chance to make an immediate impact on a winless, uber-young roster previously overseen by the fired Sashi Brown. Alonzo Highsmith, a former senior personnel executive with Green Bay, accepted a job with Cleveland last week, but his official title remains unclear. Since 2012, he had held the title of senior personnel executive after spending 13 years in the team's college scouting department. He's someone I've looked up to and has always been a mentor to me.

"I'm grateful to have the opportunity to be part of something special".

Wolf now has the hard task of trying to help turn around the Browns after another pitiful season that saw them become just the second team to finish with an 0-16 record. They won 304 games, fourth-most in the National Football League during that span. Highsmith was there that entire 19-year run.

Of course, the last time the Browns got their man before another team could swoop in was when they convinced head coach Hue Jackson to skip his interview with the New York Giants, and we all know how well that has turned out.
