The models that were affected are the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 S, iPhone SE, and the iPhone 7 models.
The lawsuit alleges that Apple never gave users consent to slow down their phones, and were never given the option to choose if they wanted it to happen.
Apple said that last year's iOS 10.2.1 update was created to address these problems.
"The reports are particularly troubling because any perceived slowdowns by iPhone users might tempt owners to upgrade their entire device instead of replace the battery", claims leading tech website, The Verge.
With this workaround, Apple is expected to achieve a almost 10 percent increased battery capacity for its 5.8 model, while the plus size models to launch next year could achieve a battery upgrade of more than 10 percent.
This sentiment was also echoed by Geekbench's John Poole who as we mentioned first mapped out the drop in performance.
Studies by third party engineers previous year had begun to discover that there was something hidden in Apple's software that deliberately throttled the performance of phones with older batteries. Apple has defended this fact as being used to "deliver the best experience" for customers, despite being considered to have been hiding this information for a long time.
Elsewhere, Kuo also suggests that Apple could not only launch iPhone X's successor next year, but also a bigger model having a 6.5-inch OLED display.
"We've now extended that feature to iPhone 7 with iOS 11.2, and plan to add support for other products in the future".
It's odd that Face ID suddenly fails to work for Ask to Buy, Apple introduced the new feature so that it will automatically replace Touch ID on many third-party apps.
"Langon : "le film " L'Étoile de Noël " arrêté en pleine séance scolaire
L'annulation de la séance scolaire de ce film d'animation américain a fait beaucoup réagir ce week-end sur les réseaux sociaux. En revanche, l'affiche, qui représente une crèche, est assez suggestive, souligne Le Figaro.
Following the reveal this week two separate class-action lawsuits have been filed in America against Apple, brought by plaintiffs in California and IL.
"Apple's decision to purposefully ... throttle down these devices", it says, "was undertaken to fraudulently induce consumers to purchase the latest" iPhone.
Mr Poole said that most users expect that their phones will perform at the same speed regardless of how old their batteries are but that this was functionally not true.
"Instead, Apple appears to have obscured and concealed why older phones were slowing down".
