Jason Priestley Says He Once Punched Harvey Weinstein in the Face

Disgraced Miramax honcho Harvey Weinstein is doubling down on his claim that he in no way sabotaged the careers of Mira Sorvino and Ashley Judd - despite directors saying otherwise.

Director Terry Zwigoff says Harvey Weinstein discouraged him from casting Mira Sorvino in the 2003 film Bad Santa.

Sadly, the punch to Harvey Weinstein's face wasn't over allegations of sexual misconduct.

In a statement to USA TODAY, Holly K. Baird, a spokeswoman for Weinstein, said "Mr. Weinstein denies speaking with Terry regarding casting".

Ashley Judd is now onscreen in the second season of Berlin Station. However, many women that ran into Harvey Weinstein over the years were not as lucky as Jason Priestley. During this period, no offers were made to actors because that occurs after a film is greenlit, and Miramax never greenlit these films. "Fran Walsh and I recall that Morgan Freeman, Paul Scofield, David Bowie, Liam Neeson, Natascha McElhone, Claire Forlani, Francesca Annis, Max von Sydow, and Daniel Day Lewis were some of the names discussed with Miramax for possible roles in The Lord of the Rings movies".

A second director has stepped forward this week with claims that Harvey and Bob Weinstein blacklisted actress Mira Sorvino and prevented her from being cast in films.

Both Sorvino and Judd have accused Weinstein of making an unwanted sexual advance.

"Miramax had flown Ashley to NY for casting discussions and to meet the production team for "Good Will Hunting".

Kentucky: After missing first five shots, the Wildcats responded with a 9-0 run to lead, and did it again later for another edge. Knox converted a three-point play to get it started and followed with a three-pointer and another three-point play.

"Fran Walsh was in the same meeting, and remembers these negative comments about Ashley and Mira as clearly as I do". "We have no reason to make it up", he added. Thank you, Peter Jackson for being honest.

Jackson said Weinstein's warnings meant that when the trilogy changed hands from Miramax to New Line, Judd and Sorvino weren't considered for roles. I guess we all know what type of person now.

"We have no direct evidence linking Ashley and Mira's allegations to our Lord of the Rings casting conversations of 20 years ago - but we stand by what we were told by Miramax when we raised both of their names, and we are recounting it accurately", Jackson said. "I'm really sorry Mira".

As for Sorvino, the statement explains that they did work together, on Guillermo Del Toro's "Mimic", and implies that Weinstein would not attempt to derail her career because she was, at the time, dating Quentin Tarantino, one of the company's most high-profile directors.
